Folly Beach NYE Drone Show Halted After Drones Fall From Sky, 1 Person Struck: Reports
FOLLY BEACH, S.C. (WCIV) — One person was struck by a falling drone during Folly Beach’s New Year’s Eve drone show, Chief Andrew Gilreath said Tuesday night.
Around 7 p.m., at Center Street in Folly Beach, the drone show started. Three minutes into the performance, spectators started shouting at local authorities that drones were falling from the sky. The event lasted 30 seconds before all drones started a “controlled descent” to a designated landing zone, Gilreath said.
