10,000 Drones A Year: RFE/RL Goes Inside The First German-Ukrainian Production Plant

In Bavaria, the first joint German-Ukrainian facility has begun manufacturing Ukrainian drones abroad. RFE/RL visited the workshop near Munich where Linza drones are assembled — the first of several joint ventures Ukraine is launching to expand military production across Europe. The facility employs dozens of Ukrainians, many of them refugees.

The Linza drone is designed for logistical support, capable of delivering essential supplies like water and first aid kits to front-line troops. For now, all units are being sent to Ukraine, but the project aims to eventually supply German and other European forces.

This development highlights the growing role of drones in modern warfare — and how international cooperation is reshaping military production.
